Positive Cycle encourages and guides individuals in making successful life choices. We offer practical support with day-to-day life-skills and living needs. We work with clients by supporting them through sometimes challenging and difficult transitions. This is achieved by exploring ideas on how to achieve their own life choices; through positive encouragement in building self-esteem and self-confidence.
Our clients are always kept safe and secure while maintaining their independence and rights. This is vital in helping vulnerable adults to enjoy their lives and supporting them to lead in all decisions, while staying out of harm.
We also help develop new and existing life skills, for example, if a resident wants to pursue volunteering and/or employment opportunities; our staff will assist with planning around this goal. We also assist residents in moving on into their own accommodation using bespoke personalised packages of care and support.
Every individual is unique having their own goals and aspirations. We pride ourselves in providing as ‘near to family and home’ environment as possible. Staff are always available to residents and are there to support and/or assist them in accessing help at times of crisis. At Ferndale House we nurture and support residents to develop key life-skills and learn how to take care of themselves.
This may include:
• Learning how to cook.
• Budgeting and Paying bills
• Prompting, encouraging, monitoring residents with medication.
• Accompanying them to health appointments.
• Daily living and life-skills support, personal development
• A range of stimulating activities, holidays and trips away.
Over the years we have developed positive relationships with a number of services and other professionals who support with the varying and complex needs that our residents may have. We promote and support residents to maintain family contact and welcome family members to the home.
Ferndale house meets all necessary standards in providing supported accommodation and care services as required by the local authorities.
The home is easily accessible from the motorway and nearby local shopping centres, high street, health providers and is situated on the public transport routes.
Residents are able to access members of staff 24/7, and there is always a member of staff available to them. We have CCTV in the communal and outdoors areas.
We pride ourselves on quality of service. Weekly and monthly quality assurance monitoring is undertaken by our management team. Health and Safety Checks are also undertaken alongside weekly room checks.
Ferndale House is our first home supported, backed and managed by Positive Cycle. It is a large mid terrace house with its own garden situated near central Bristol, in close proximity to activities and leisure amenities.
